Nathan Roberts of FlatEarthDoctrine Bad Explanation Of Kindling Fire On The Sabbath

Nathan Roberts of FlatEarthDoctrine posted the following false teaching.

Flat earther Nathan Roberts proclaimed on his FlatEarthDoctrine Facebook page:

This post is just too blunt and truthful. In Jesus’s name, and his alone, be saved and blessed. Amen.

As the temperature dips way below freezing yesterday, I was particularly happy I do not observe the Sabbath!

“Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. You must not kindle fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.” Exodus 35:‬3

I am so thankful today for this verse in Galatians as it is -32° C outside!

For all who rely on the works of the law are under the curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the Book of the Law, to do them.” Galatians 3:10 MEV

What’s the connection you ask?

Well during our family devo’s this morning we read from Exodus 35 where it outlines some of the requirements for Sabbath observance,

“Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said to them: These are the things the Lord has commanded you to do. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. You must not kindle fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.” Exodus 35:1‭-‬3 MEV

We took particular note of the ‘not kindling fire’ part. By my calculations we would last about 16 hours before succumbing to the cold, the children probably less.

Anibal El-Malak commented:

Anyone who breaks the least of the commandments and teaches other men to do so will be called the least in the kingdom. So if the Holy Spirit doesn’t convict you to keep God’s commandments why do you teach others not to? Unless you have another agenda…

The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.

Here’s my feedback on what Nathan Roberts of FlatEarthDoctrine said:

Exodus 35:1-3 is prohibiting the kindling of fire on the Sabbath for the purpose of working or cooking, not to keep warm!

Yahuah doesn’t not make His set-apart saints suffer from cold on the Sabbath!  The proclamation by Nathan Roberts is ridiculous!

Exodus 16:23 provides some clarity:

“And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.”

It’s just another case of Nathan Roberts failing to understand the proper context of Scripture.

Nathan Roberts is also very confused about what Scripture proclaims about the shape of the earth, as he takes Bible verses out of context, to make them seem like they’re pointing to a flat earth.
