The Holy Trinity

This Revelation 18:4 – Come Out Of Her study discusses the relationship of the Father, the Son and the Spirit.

Let me preface this study by reminding you that the ‘falling away’ that the Apostle Paul warned about in 2 Thessalonians 2 took place in the fourth century, when Emperor Constantine and the Roman bishops codified Romanism during the Council of Nicaea.

After centuries of using the Roman Emperors to persecute Messiah’s Ekklesia of saints, Satan found out that it only caused Messiah’s church to grow faster, so he changed his strategy with Constantine and had him create a false Christian religion in order to seek to destroy Messiah’s Ekklesia from within.

These Roman councils created pagan-based holidays of Easter and Christmas, to hide the Father’s seven Holy Feast Days which Messiah is in the process of fulfilling to redeem the set-apart saints. Their holidays are based on the unholy trinity of the Babylonian Mystery Religion, that of the sun-god Nimrod, the moon-goddess Semiramis (Ishtar in Egypt) and the incarnate christ-child, Tammuz.

Modern Christian denominations look back to the Council of Nicaea and declare their doctrine, but we have to keep in mind that the Roman bishops represent the teachings of the mystery of iniquity which set the stage for the son of perdition, antichrist beast Popes of Rome to lead the harlot church of Rome.

Council of Nicea

Notice that the leaders of the Council of Nicaea are dressed with mitres, because it was led by the bishops of Rome. Romanism was created to gather the world under Constantine’s authority and it’s been the false religion of the antichrist beast Popes ever since. The Roman Catholic Church teaches doctrine that is contrary to Scripture, so we must discern what we hold to be true. We must rely on what Scripture is telling us, not what a council declared.

What I’m pointing out is that the theology of the Council of Nicaea was created by people who were teaching false concepts and were steeped in paganism.

Because these concepts were created so long ago, believers today don’t see the significance of what took place in the fourth century and how some of the common Christianity beliefs are based on these Roman councils.

In Revelation 18:4, Messiah commands His saints to ‘come out of her,’ to come out of the teachings of the Babylonian harlot church of Rome. In these end times the Spirit is moving to refine the bride as her marriage to the Lamb of God draws nigh.

The Spirit guided you to this study for a reason.

I pray that you will read all of the verses in this study, to seek Scriptural truth and not defend a belief.

Before we start, here’s the views of some of the early church fathers who existed before the Roman Council of Nicaea:

  • Polycarp made a clear distinction between God and the Son, describing the Father as Almighty and the Son as subordinate.
  • Justin Martyr – In his view, God begot the Son as a rational power before all creatures as a Beginning; of the very substance of the Father.
  • Ignatius of Antioch also described the Father as the only true God, unapproachable and Begetter of the only-begotten Son. Ignatius describes the Son as “our God” but the Father as “the only true God.” This confusion is caused by translations. The ancient writers did not have the word “God.”
  • Irenaeus identified the Father as the only true God who alone is Almighty and the Head of Christ.

Arius objected to the mandates of the Council of Nicaea in regard to the relationship of the Father and the Son.

Teachings about Messiah being subservient to the Father, dominated the early church for 380 years. This led to the Council of Nicaea, where a bishop named Arius proclaimed this view. His stance was rejected and he was denounced as a heretic.

Eusebius of Nicomedia was an important 4th-century Eastern church bishop who was one of the key proponents of Arianism (the doctrine that Jesus Christ is not of the same substance as God) and who eventually became the leader of an Arian group called the Eusebians.

Emperor Constantine presided over the Council of Nicaea and he demanded that the bishops approve his declarations.

In other words, the bishops were forced to sign the creed and they would lose their jobs and be exiled to another part of the empire.

Constantine ordered copies of the Thalia, the book in which Arius wrote about the Son being subservient to the Father, to be burned, and commanded death to those who refused to surrender their copy.

When a ‘Christian’ council deems it necessary to kill people who object to their theology, you can be sure that it’s a false belief system; for Messiah did not call us to do such things.

Here’s some key verses that should open your eyes:

John 17:3 declares that the Father is the only true Elohim.

And this is everlasting life, that they should know You (the Father), the only true Elohim, and Yeshua Messiah whom You have sent.”

Elohim, rendered as God in the King James is Strong’s Greek Dictionary word 2316 theos, which means: a deity, especially (with 3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:—X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).

It’s telling us that the Father is the supreme deity, who sent Messiah His Son.

In John 20:17, Messiah calls His Father His Elohim.

“Yeshua says to her, Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I ascend to my Father and your Father, and to my Elohim and your Elohim.”

In Ephesians, the Apostle Paul points to the Elohim of Messiah.

“Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua Messiah, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3

“That the Elohim of our Master Yeshua Messiah, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.” Ephesians 1:17

1 Timothy 2:5 declares that there is one Elohim, the Father; and one Mediator between Him and men.  That makes no sense if Messiah is the same Elohim as the Father.

For there is one Elohim, and one Mediator between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah Yeshua,”

In Revelation 3:12, Messiah calls His Father His Elohim four times.

“He who overcomes, I shall make him a supporting post in the Dwelling Place of My Elohim, and he shall by no means go out. And I shall write on him the Name of My Elohim and the name of the city of My Elohim, the renewed Jerusalem , which comes down out of the heaven from My Elohim, and My renewed Name.”

Are those verses opening your eyes, to see that we’ve been misled about the relationship of the Father, Son and Spirit?

Don’t worry, I’m not denying the deity of Messiah. I believe that He preexisted, that He was active at the creation of this world, that He came to dwell among us in the flesh, that He was born by supernatural power to not inherit a sin nature, that He lived a sinless life, that His blood sacrifice as the Passover Lamb atoned for our sins, and that He rose again. HalleluYah!

I believe that the Father, His beloved Son and His Spirit all play a role in our redemption.

I prove out the deity of Messiah in these prophecies: the 70th week of Daniel 9, Messiah’s Olivet Discourse and Messiah’s apocalyptic vision in Revelation.

Below, I list the many significant verses which I found, which define the relationship of the Father and the Son. Read all of the verses and simply ask, what are they telling you?

I recommend using the green Print/PDF button on the top right of the study, to print it out in an easy to read format; as you need to read all of the verses, not just glance through them.

Note: this study uses Hebrew/Aramaic name of Messiah, Yeshua, which His disciples would have used as they spoke Hebrew and Aramaic. And it uses the tetragrammaton, YHUH, for the Father’s name. Using the proper names helps clarify their roles and relationship; whereas the titles of God and Lord cause confusion.

Mark 12:29 gives us example of how the King James muddies the waters with the titles of God and Lord, “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:”

And Yeshua answered him, “The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Israel, YHUH our Elohim, YHUH is one.”

Using the proper names, we see who is Elohim, YHUH. It’s pointing to the Father, not Messiah.

Doesn’t it seem odd and inconsistent, that the Old Testament seems monotheistic, where the focus is on the Father, who alone is Elohim; who proclaims “Thou shall not have any gods before me.”

“And let them know that You, Whose Name is YHUH, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.” Psalm 83:18

And then the New Testament has people worshiping Messiah as Elohim?

What if the enemy has caused us to misunderstand what Scripture is proclaiming, that the Father is Elohim the Most High, who is worthy of our worship; and that though the Son is divine, He is not equal to His Father and is subservient to Him?

What if the enemy has caused believers to focus primarily on worshiping the Son instead of the Father?

Messiah Himself pointed to his Father as the one you should pray to and worship.

I know, it all sounds like heresy if you’ve been raised to believe in the Holy Trinity of three equal-parts of the Godhead; but I don’t want to trust in man-made beliefs, I want to rely on what Scripture proclaims.

This study affirms that Messiah is deity and worthy of our love and praise, as He came in the flesh to ratify the everlasting covenant with His blood; and He is fulfilling His Father’s seven Holy Feast Days to redeem the set-apart saints.

The Father, His Spirit and His Son, all play a role in our redemption; but Scripture tells a different story than what we’ve been taught by most Pastors; which is that those three parts are all equal in power. Pray for guidance, and ask yourself, “what are the verses telling you?”

We are called to be as the Bereans, to read the Scriptures to see if what our Pastors have taught us is correct.

Below I’ve listed verses in focused groups, and I will ask you questions, so that you can discern what you see Scripture proclaiming; and draw your own conclusion.

The entire Old Testament is about esteeming Elohim the Father, obeying the Father, and revering His name.

“Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: YHUH our Elohim, YHUH is one!” Deuteronomy 6:4

“Fear YHUH your Elohim and serve Him, and swear by His Name.” Deuteronomy 6:13

Here’s a list of verses which proclaim one Elohim:

In John 17:3, Messiah is declaring that the only true Elohim is His Father. “And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and Yeshua Messiah whom You have sent.”

In Mark 12:32, the Scribe proclaimed that there is one Elohim, the Father, and Messiah did not correct him. “And the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one Elohim, and there is no other besides Him.”

Timothy 2:5 emphasizes that Messiah is our Mediator to the one Elohim, the Father. For there is one Elohim, and one Mediator between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah Yeshua,”

1 Corinthians 8:4-6 says that there’s one Elohim, the Father; and one Messiah. So then, concerning the eating of food offered to idols, we know that an idol is no matter at all in the world, and that there is no other Elohim but one. For even if there are so-called mighty ones, whether in heaven or on earth – as there are many mighty ones and many masters –  for us there is one Elohim, the Father, from whom all came and for whom we live, and one Master Yeshua Messiah, through whom all came and through whom we live.”

Ephesians 4:4-6 again declares that there is One Elohim and one Messiah.  “one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation of your calling, one Master, one belief, one immersion, one Elohim and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1 John 5:20 says that the Father is the true Elohim. And we know that the Son of Elohim has come and has given us an understanding, so that we might know the true One. And we are in the true One, in His Son Yeshua Messiah. This is the true Elohim and everlasting life.

Here’s a list of verses which call Messiah the Son of Elohim:

The Strong’s Greek word 5207 for ‘son‘ is uihos.  Apparently a primary word; a son (sometimes of animals), used very widely of immediate, remote or figurative kinship: – child, foal, son.

And what is a child?  Is a child not a creation of the Father?  Is a child equal to the Father?

“And  Simon Peter answering, said, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim. And Yeshua answering, said to him, “Blessed are you, Shimʽon Bar-Yonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father in the heavens.”” Matthew 16:16-17

“No one has ever seen Elohim. The only brought-forth Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He did declare.” John 1:18

“For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life.  He who believes in Him is not judged, but he who does not believe is judged already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only brought-forth Son of Elohim.” John 3:16,18

And we have believed, and we know that You are the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim.” John 6:69

“And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, it is permitted.” And he answering, said, “I believe that Yeshua Messiah is the Son of Elohim.” Act 8:37

“that Elohim has filled this for us, their children, having raised up Yeshua, as it has also been written in the second Tehillah, ‘You are My Son, today I have brought You forth.’” Acts 13:33

“We announce to you what we have seen and heard, so that you too might have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Yeshua Messiah.” 1 John 1:3

“Whoever confesses that Yeshua is the Son of Elohim, Elohim stays in him, and he in Elohim.” 1 John 4:15

“Favour, compassion, peace be with you from Elohim the Father, and from the Master Yeshua Messiah, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.” 2 John 1:3

Here’s a list of verses which show that the Father is the Son’s Elohim:

“…Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My El, my El, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46 Messiah is calling out to His Father, His El.

“But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I (Messiah) have heard from Elohim: Abraham did not do this.” John 8:40

“Yeshua said to them, “If Elohim were your Father, you would love Me, for I came forth from Elohim, and am here. For I have not come of Myself, but He sent Me.” John 8:42

Yeshua said to her, “Do not hold on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to my Elohim and your Elohim.’ ” John 20:17

And I wish you to know that the head of every man is the Messiah, and the head of woman is the man, and the head of Messiah is Elohim.” 1 Corinthians 11:3

Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua Messiah, the Father of compassion and Elohim of all comfort,” 2 Corinthians 1:3

The Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua Messiah, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.” 2 Corinthians 11:31

“Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Messiah” Ephesians 1:3

“that the Elohim of our Master Yeshua Messiah, the Father of esteem, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him” Ephesians 1:17

one Elohim and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:6

“We give thanks to the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua Messiah, praying always for you” Colossians 1:3

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17

“For to which of the messengers did He ever say, “You are My Son, today I have brought You forth”? And again, “I shall be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son?” Hebrews 1:5

“You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness. Because of this, Elohim, your Elohim, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Hebrews 1:9 is proclaiming the Elohim, Messiah’s Elohim, anointed Him.

“Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua Messiah, who according to His great compassion has caused us to be born again to a living expectation through the resurrection of Yeshua Messiah from the dead” 1 Peter 1:3

“and has made us sovereigns and priests to His Elohim and Father, to Him be esteem and rule forever and ever. Amĕn.” Revelation 1:6

and from Yeshua Messiah, the trustworthy witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler of the sovereigns of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us sovereigns and priests to His Elohim and Father, to Him be esteem and rule forever and ever. Amĕn.” Revelation 1:56

“He who overcomes, I shall make him a supporting post in the Dwelling Place of My Elohim, and he shall by no means go out. And I shall write on him the Name of My Elohim and the name of the city of My Elohim, the renewed Jerusalem, which comes down out of the heaven from My Elohim, and My renewed Name.” In Revelation 3:12 Messiah proclaimed that His father is His Elohim four times.

Here’s a list of verses that open up New Testament books, which proclaim that the Father is Elohim, and that Messiah is separate.

Note: Messiah was with His Father in heaven when these books were written.  If they were the same triune godhead, why would each author address them separately? The word ‘and‘ tells us that they are not the same being, but are separate.

“To all who are in Rome, beloved of Elohim, called, set-apart ones: Favour to you and peace from Elohim our Father and the Master Yeshua Messiah.” Romans 1:7

“Paul, a called emissary of Yeshua Messiah by the desire of Elohim, and brother Sosthenes,” 1 Corinthians 1:1

“Paul, and Sila, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in Elohim the Father and the Master Yeshua Messiah: Favour to you and peace from Elohim our Father and the Master Yeshua Messiah.  remembering without ceasing your work of the belief, and the labour of love, and the endurance of the expectation in our Master Yeshua Messiah in the presence of our Elohim and Father,” 1 Thessalonians 1:1,3

“Now Elohim himself and our Father, and our Master Yeshua Messiah, direct our way unto you.” 1 Thessalonians 3:11

“Paul, and Sila, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in Elohim our Father and the Master Yeshua Messiah: Favour to you and peace from Elohim our Father and the Master Yeshua Messiah.” 2 Thessalonians 1:1-2

“Paul, a servant of Elohim and an emissary of Yeshua Messiah, according to the belief of Elohim’s chosen ones and knowledge of the truth according to reverence, in expectation of everlasting life which Elohim, who does not lie, promised before times of old,…  to Titus, a genuine child according to our common belief: Favour, compassion, peace from Elohim the Father and the Master Yeshua Messiah our Saviour.” Titus 1:1-2,4

“And the seventh messenger sounded, and there came to be loud voices in the heaven, saying, “The reign of this world has become the reign of our Master (Elohim), and of His Messiah, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Revelation 11:15

Here’s a list of verses that show that the Father and Son are separate:

“And, behold, one came and said unto him (Yeshua), Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, Elohim: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.” Matthew 19:16-17

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only,” Matthew 24:36.  If the Father and Son are one being and equal, how is it possible that the Father has information that the Son lacks?

No one has ever seen Elohim. The only brought-forth Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He did declare. John 1:18

For the Father judges no one, but has given all the judgment to the Son” John 5:22

For as the Father possesses life in Himself, so He gave also to the Son to possess life in Himself, and He has given Him authority also to do judgment, because He is the Son of Adam.” John 5:26-27

“Elohim is trustworthy, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Yeshua Messiah our Master.” 1 Corinthians 1:9

“And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.” 1 Corinthians 3:23

“And all things are of Elohim, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18

“In the sight of Elohim who gives life to all, and of Messiah Yeshua who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, I charge you:” 1 Timothy 6:13

looking for the blessed expectation and esteemed appearance of THE GREAT Elohim (the Father) and our Saviour Yeshua Messiah” Titus 2:13

“For Messiah is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of Elohim for us.” Hebrews 9:24

“And the Elohim of peace who brought up our Master Yeshua from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,” Hebrews 13:20

“Because even Messiah once suffered for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to Elohim, having been put to death indeed in flesh but made alive in the Spirit,” 1 Peter 3:18

“And the Elohim of all favour, who called you to His everlasting esteem by Messiah Yeshua, after you have suffered a while, Himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” 1 Peter 5:10

“We announce to you what we have seen and heard, so that you too might have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Yeshua  Messiah.” 1 John 1:3

Here’s a list of verses that show that the Son is subservient to His Father:

“And going forward a little, He fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I desire, but as You desire.” Matthew 26:39

Again He went away, a second time, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is impossible for this to pass unless I drink it, let Your desire be done.” Matthew 26:42

“Yeshua saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” John 4:34

“Then answered Yeshua and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise”  John 5:19

Of Myself I am unable to do any matter. As I hear, I judge, and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own desire, but the desire of the Father who sent Me.” John 5:30

Because I have come down out of the heaven, not to do My own desire, but the desire of Him who sent Me.” John 6:38

Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from Elohim – He has seen the Father.” John 6:46

So Yeshua said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Aḏam, then you shall know that I am He, and that I do none at all of Myself, but as My Father taught Me, these words I speak. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.” John 8:28-29

“Yeshua said to them, “If Elohim were your Father, you would love Me, for I came forth from Elohim, and am here. For I have not come of Myself, but He sent me.” John 8:42

My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. And no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” John 10:29

“But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of Elohim, Elohim will give it thee.” John 11:22

“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak John 12:49

You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you did love Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.” John 14:28

“But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Messiah; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Messiah is Elohim.” 1 Corinthians 11:3

“Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” 1 Corinthians 15:25-28

For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah Yeshua, who, being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men.” Philippians 2:5-7

Do these verses proclaim that Messiah was created?

who is the likeness of the invisible Elohim, the first-born of all creation. Because in Him were created all that are in the heavens and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or rulerships or principalities or authorities – all have been created through Him and for Him. And He is before all, and in Him all hold together.” Colossians 1:15-17

Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.” Hebrews 1:4-6

“So also the Messiah did not extol Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him, “You are My Son, today I have brought You forth.” Hebrews 5:5

“By this the love of Elohim was manifested in us, that Elohim has sent His only brought-forth Son into the world, in order that we might live through Him.” 1 John 4:9

“And to the messenger of the assembly in Laodicea write, ‘The Amĕn, the Trustworthy and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of Elohim, says this:” Revelation 3:14

Here’s an interesting question. What/who is the light of the first day of creation, since the sun was not created until the fourth day?

“And Elohim said, “Let light come to be,” and light came to be.” Genesis 1:3

Lets back up to the first verse.

“In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

Now look at how John started his Gospel.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. He was in the beginning with Elohim.  All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5

John is relating the light of the world, Messiah, to the light of the first day of creation.

“He was not that Light, but that he might bear witness of that Light. He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world.” John 1:8-9

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.” John 12:46

When all is said and done, and this world passes away, there is no need for the sun that was created on the fourth day, as Messiah is the light.

“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” Revelation 21:23

Does this not bring the story full circle? If Messiah is the light of Genesis 1:3, He continues to illuminate the world even after the sun is no more.

We try to put this relationship in a box, to define it in human terms, but it may be outside of our realm of understanding. What’s vital is that we have a covenant relationship with the Father through His beloved Son, and are led by the Spirit. But just look at what Scripture is declaring.

Here’s a list of verses that show that Messiah is our Intercessor to the Father:

If Messiah is the mediator between His Father and man, how is it possible that He is also the Father? Such reasoning is not only unscriptural, but also illogical.

“Who is he who is condemning? It is Messiah who died, and furthermore is also raised up, who is also at the right hand of Elohim, who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:34

For there is one Elohim, and one Mediator between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah Yeshua,”  Timothy 2:5

“Therefore He (Messiah) is also able to save completely those who draw near to Elohim through Him, ever living to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25

My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Intercessor with the Father, Yeshua Messiah, a righteous One.” 1 John 2:1

Here’s a list of verses that show that the Father and Son have separate thrones:

Revelation takes place in the heavens, where the Father and Son are together.  If they are the same being, why are they both addressed and have separate thrones?

“To him who overcomes I shall give to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:21

Revelation 4:2-9 describes the throne in heaven and the One who sits on it  “And immediately I came to be in the Spirit and saw a throne set in the heaven, and One sat on the throne.”

Then Revelation 4:10-11 tells you that it is YHUH, the Heavenly father, “the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and bow before Him who lives “You are worthy, O YHUH, to receive esteem and respect and power, for You have created all, and because of Your desire they are, and were created.””

“And I looked and saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders a Lamb standing, as having been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of Elohim sent out into all the earth.  And He (Messiah, the Lamb) came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him sitting on the throne. Revelation 5:6 7

And every creature which is in the heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying, “To Him sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb, be the blessing and the respect and the esteem and the might, forever and ever!”  Revelation 5:13

and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him sitting on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,” Revelation 6:16

After this I looked and saw a great crowd which no one was able to count, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, and palm branches in their hands,” Revelation 7:9

and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Deliverance belongs to our Elohim who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb! And all the messengers stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped Elohim, saying, “Amĕn! The blessing, and the esteem, and the wisdom, and the thanksgiving, and the respect, and the power, and the might, to our Elohim forever and ever. Amĕn.” Revelation 7:10-12

“Because of this they are before the throne of Elohim, and serve Him day and night in His Dwelling Place. And He who sits on the throne shall spread His Tent over them.” Revelation 7:15

And another messenger came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer, and much incense was given to him, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the set-apart ones upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the set-apart ones, went up before Elohim from the hand of the messenger.” Revelation 8:3 -4

And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped Elohim who sat on the throne, saying, “Amĕn! Halleluyah!” d a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our Elohim, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” Revelation 19:4-5

Here’s a list of verses that show that the Son is at the Father’s right hand:

If you are at the right hand, you are in a place of honor, but you are subservient.

“‘YHUH said to my Master (Messiah), “Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies a footstool of Your feet” Matthew 22:44

“Then indeed, after the Master had spoken to them, He was received up into the heaven, and sat down at the right hand of Elohim.” Mark 16:19

“From now on the Son of Aḏam shall sit on the right hand of the power of Elohim.” Luke 22:69

“Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of Elohim, and having received from the Father the promise of the Set-apart Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.” Acts 2:33

Him, a Prince and a Saviour, Elohim has exalted to His right hand, to give repentance to Yisra’ĕl and forgiveness of sins.” Acts 5:31

“But he, being filled with the Set-apart Spirit, looked steadily into the heaven and saw the esteem of Elohim, and Yeshua standing at the right hand of Elohim, and he said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Aḏam standing at the right hand of Elohim!”” Acts 7:55-56

“and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who are believing, according to the working of His mighty strength, which He wrought in the Messiah when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies,” Ephesians 1:19-20

“If, then, you were raised with Messiah, seek the matters which are above, where Messiah is, seated at the right hand of Elohim.” Colossians 3:1

“who being the brightness of the esteem and the exact representation of His substance, and sustaining all by the word of His power, having made a cleansing of our sins through Himself, sat down at the right hand of the Greatness (Majesty) on high,” Hebrews 1:3

“Now the summary of what we are saying is: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Greatness (Majesty) in the heavens,” Hebrews 8:1

“But He, having offered one slaughter offering for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of Elohim,” Hebrews 10:12

“looking to the Princely Leader and Perfecter of our belief, Yeshua, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the stake, having despised the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim.” Hebrews 12:2

“which figure now also saves us: immersion – not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward Elohim – through the resurrection of Yeshua Messiah, ho, having gone into heaven, is at the right hand of Elohim, messengers and authorities and powers having been subjected to Him.: 1 Peter 3:21 -22

These Scriptures show that the Father and Son are one in thought and actions.

They are one, in mind and mission.

And Yeshua said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One – Elohim.” Mark 10:18

And Yeshua answered him, “The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Israel, YHUH our Elohim,  YHUH is one.” Mark 12:29

The following verses are used to say that the Father and the Son are one in thought and action; as a husband and wife are “one”, yet are still separate beings.

Therefore Yeshua responded and said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is able to do none at all by Himself, but only that which He sees the Father doing, because whatever He does, the Son also likewise does.“John 5:19

“I and My Father are one.” Again the Yehuḏim picked up stones to stone Him. John 10:30-31

If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” John 10:37-38

“And I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Set-apart Father, guard them in Your Name which You have given Me, so that they might be one, as We are.” John 17:11

The word “one” here is the same word in John 10:30, “I and My Father are one.”

According to Messiah, in the same way we believers are one, the Father and Son are one. Are we all one person? Obviously not! As we find from the Apostle Paul, we are one in conviction and heart: “Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind,” Philippians 2:2.

And I do not pray for these alone, but also for those believing in Me through their word, so that they all might be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, so that they too might be one in Us, so that the world might believe that You have sent Me. “And the esteem which You gave Me I have given them, so that they might be one as We are one, “I in them, and You in Me, so that they might be perfected into one, so that the world knows that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” John 17:20-23

Here’s a list of verses that show that the Father should be worshiped:

Part of the deception is that people overly focus on Messiah, which effectively removes reverence and praise for the Most High Heavenly Father.

“and said to Him, “All these I shall give You if You fall down and worship me. Then Yeshua said to him, “Go, Satan! For it has been written, ‘You shall worship YHUH your Elohim, and Him alone you shall serve. Matthew 4:9-10

“Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, but you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where one needs to worship. Yeshua said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you shall neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. John 4:20-21

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also does seek such to worship Him.” John 4:23

“Elohim is Spirit, and those who worship Him need to worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

“saying, “This one does seduce men to worship Elohim contrary to the Torah.” Acts 18:13

“And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,” Acts 24:14

“And so the secrets of his heart are revealed. And so, falling down on his face, he shall worship Elohim, declaring that Elohim is truly among you.” 1 Corinthians 14:25

“being filled with the fruit of righteousness, through Yeshua Messiah, to the esteem and praise of Elohim.” Philippians 1:11

“For we are the circumcision, who are serving Elohim in the Spirit, and boasting in Messiah Yeshua, and do not trust in the flesh.” Philippians 3:3

“And my Elohim shall fill all your need according to His riches in esteem by Messiah Yeshua. And to our Elohim and Father be esteem forever and ever. Amĕn.” Philippians 4:19-20

“And the four living creatures, each having six wings, were covered with eyes around and within. And they do not cease, day or night, saying, “Set-apart, set-apart, set-apart, YHUH Ěl Shaddai (the Father), who was, and who is, and who is coming!  Revelation 4:8

“And when the living creatures give esteem and respect and thanks to Him who sits on the throne (the Father), who lives forever and ever,” Revelation 4:9

“the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and bow before Him who lives forever and ever, and they cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “You are worthy, O YHUH, to receive esteem and respect and power, for You have created all, and because of Your desire they are, and were created.” Revelation 4:10 -11

“And I saw another messenger flying in mid-heaven, holding the everlasting Good News to announce to those dwelling on the earth, even to every nation and tribe and tongue and people, saying with a loud voice, “Fear Elohim (the Father) and give esteem to Him, because the hour of His judgment has come. And worship Him who made the heaven and the earth, and sea, and fountains of water.” Revelation 14:6-7

“And they sing the song of Mosheh the servant of Elohim, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, YHUH Ěl Shaddai! Righteous and true are Your ways, O Sovereign of the set-apart ones! Who shall not fear You, O YHUH, and esteem Your Name? Because You alone are kind. Because all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your righteousnesses have been made manifest.” Revelation 15:3 -4

“And after this I heard a loud voice of a great crowd in the heaven, saying, “Halleluyah! Deliverance and esteem and respect and power to YHUH our Elohim! Revelation 19:1

“And I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “See, do not do it! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who possess the witness of Yeshua. Worship Elohim! For the witness of Yeshua is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10

“And I, John, saw and heard these matters. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the messenger who showed me these matters. And he said to me, “See, do not! For I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who are guarding the words of this book. Worship Elohim.” Revelation 22:8 -9

Here’s a list of verses that show that Messiah is to be praised, as He is divine:

Verses tell us to revere Messiah and to praise Him for His work of redemption; but the enemy has caused Christians to primarily revere the Son, which steals away from the worship of Elohim.

“Where is He who has been born Sovereign of the Yehuḏim? For we saw His star in the East and have come to do reverence to Him.” Matthew 2:2

“but grow in the favour and knowledge of our Master and Saviour Yeshua Messiah. To Him be the esteem both now and to a day that abides. Amĕn.” 2 Peter 3:18

“Elohim, having of old spoken in many portions and many ways to the fathers by the prophets,” has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all, through whom also He made the ages,  who being the brightness of the esteem and the exact representation of His substance, and sustaining all by the word of His power, having made a cleansing of our sins through Himself, sat down at the right hand of the Greatness on high, having become so much better than the messengers, as He has inherited a more excellent Name than them. For to which of the messengers did He ever say, “You are My Son, today I have brought You forth”?1 And again, “I shall be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son”?  And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, “Let all the messengers of Elohim do reverence to Him.” Hebrews 1:1-6

“And when He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the set-apart ones.” And they sang a renewed song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and have redeemed us to Elohim by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and made us sovereigns and priests to our Elohim, and we shall reign upon the earth.”… saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and respect and esteem and blessing!” Revelation 5:8-10,12

Here’s a list of verses that show that we are to live for and pray to the Father:

“But you, when you pray, go into your room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place. And your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.” Matthew 6:6

“Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. This, then, is the way you should pray: ‘Our Father who is in the heavens, let Your Name be set-apart, let Your reign come, let Your desire be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into trial, but deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem, forever. Amĕn.” Matthew 6:7-13

“And whatever you ask (the Father) in My Name, that I shall do, in order that the Father might be esteemed in the Son.” John 14:13

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He might give you.” John 15:16

“And in that day you shall ask Me none at all. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My Name He shall give you. Until now you have asked naught in My Name. Ask, and you shall receive, in order that your joy might be complete. In that day you shall ask in My Name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father on your behalf,” John 16:23 24, 26

“But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to treat their own house reverently, and to repay their parents. For this is good and acceptable before Elohim. And she who is truly a widow, and left alone, trusts in Elohim and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.” 1 Timothy 5:4-5

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.” James 1:5

Draw near to Elohim and He shall draw near to you.” James 4:8

“Drawing near to Him, a living Stone – rejected indeed by men, but chosen by Elohim and precious; you also, as living stones, are being built up, a spiritual house, a set-apart priesthood, to offer up spiritual slaughter offerings acceptable to Elohim through Yeshua Messiah.” 1 Peter 2:4 -6

“If anyone speaks, let it be as the Words of Elohim. If anyone serves, let it be as with the strength which Elohim provides, so that Elohim might be praised in it all through Yeshua Messiah, to whom belong the esteem and the rule forever and ever. Amĕn.” 1 Peter 4:11

The Father and Son are one in thought and actions.

The following verses are used to say that the Father and the Son are one in person. However, they simply mean that they are one in thought and action; as a husband and wife are “one”, yet are still separate beings.

Therefore Yeshua responded and said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is able to do none at all by Himself, but only that which He sees the Father doing, because whatever He does, the Son also likewise does.“ John 5:19

“I and My Father are one. Again the Yehuḏim picked up stones to stone Him.” John 10:30-31. They did this because Messiah proclaimed to be from the Father, deity, which they rejected.

If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” John 10:37-38

“Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.” John 12:49

And I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Set-apart Father, guard them in Your Name which You have given Me, so that they might be one, as We are.” John 17:11

What is the role of the Holy Spirit?

There is no Scripture which declares that the Spirit of Elohim is 1/3rd of the godhead. Scripture never declares that it is equal to the Father in power.

Scripture does proclaim that the Spirit of the Father is sent to those who have a covenant relationship with Him through the Son.

“And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Helper, to stay with you forever, the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you.” John 14:16

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. John 16:7

“But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it shall be given to you in that hour what you shall speak, for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you.  Matthew 10:19-20

Now YHUH is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of YHUH is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17

Conclusion

Though the Father, Messiah and the Spirit all play a role in our redemption, there is no Scriptural basis for them being three equal parts of a godhead. The Scriptures only seem to be congruent when:

You see the Father as the most High God/Elohim;

Messiah as the Father’s first-born, thus He is deity, but He is separate and subservient to the Father;

That the world was created through them;

That Messiah is the image of the invisible Father, who came in the flesh to fulfill His Father’s will, to redeem His set apart people;

And that the (Holy) Spirit of the Father is given to those who have a covenant relationship with the Father through the Son.

Then Messiah’s statements about the Father and His conversations with the Father, seem very normal.

Then Messiah, who is a representation of the Father in the flesh, could be tempted by sin; and could die as the Passover Lamb, and be raised again by the Father.

The Father, Son and Set-apart Spirit are all vital to our salvation; and now hopefully we understand their unique relationship much better.

Here’s some verses that people cite to proclaim the trinity.

Isaiah 9:6 is an interesting verse that trinitarians cite.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Keep in mind that one verse doesn’t invalidate all of the other verses which show that Messiah is separate and subservient to the Father.

Messiah is our wonderful counselor. Messiah is deity, so he is a mighty El, a mighty God who conquered Satan the god of this world with His atoning work on the cross.

Messiah is the cause of eternal life to all the faithful, as He confirmed the everlasting covenant with His blood to pay for our sins, so He is an everlasting Father of our salvation. Messiah is the prince of peace.

Messiah is all of those things, but that doesn’t prove that He’s equal in power to His Father, or 1/3rd of the so-called godhead.

One of the primary verses that people cite to justify the trinity is 1 John 5:7-8.

In the King James it reads:

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one

Here’s the problem. The section, referred to as “Comma Johannuem,” does not exist in the oldest Greek manuscripts of Aleph, A, B, and the Vulgate. It is wanting in any Greek manuscripts until the sixteenth century. It was not mentioned in the fourth century debates with the Arians, which is very telling as it would have been one of the primary Scriptures to push their Holy Trinity doctrine.

Comma Johannuem refers to this short clause in 1 John 5:7-8 in the Latin Vulgate (Catholic version) which was added by Erasmus in 1522 AD due to pressure from the Roman Catholic Church.

It was then included in the Textus Receptus.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

The more literal translation, the ISR 98, does not include the part of the text which is not found in all of the manuscripts.  It leaves out “the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” part, because it is not in the manuscripts.

Verse 7 “Because there are three who bear witness:” Verse 8 “the Spirit, and the water, and the blood. And the three are in agreement.”

People cite Matthew 28:19, which mentions all three.

Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit, ISR 98

The verses mentions the Father, Son and Spirit; but it doesn’t declare that they’re equal parts of a godhead.

All three play a role in our redemption. The Father calls us, we are saved through His Son, and we are given the Father’s Spirit.

These verses declare to only baptize in Messiah’s name:

And Peter said to them, “Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of Yeshua Messiah for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit.” Acts 2:38

for He had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been immersed in the Name of the Master Yeshua.” Acts 8:16

And he commanded them to be immersed in the Name of Yeshua Messiah. Then they asked him to remain a few days.” Act 10:48

And Paul said, “John indeed immersed with an immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the One who is coming after him, that is, in Messiah Yeshua.  And when they heard this, they were immersed in the Name of the Master Yeshua.” Act 19:4-5

People cite Colossians 2:9, which uses the title of ‘Godhead.’

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

The Scriptures (ISR) renders it as,

“Because in Him dwells all the completeness of Elohim-ness bodily”

Godhead is a man-made word. The Greek word is theotes, which means divinity. It’s based on theos, which is the supreme Divinity.

The fullness of the Father is in Messiah. Messiah is the image, the representation of the Father. They are one in mindset and purpose.

Let’s note what Arius (250 CE – 336 CE), who received his religious training at Antioch, the first location of the early assembly, had to say about the matter.  Unlike Alexandria, which was dominated by the Greek mind, Antioch maintained a Hebraic view, including a strict monotheistic interpretation of Scripture.

At the Council of Nicea, Arius insisted that Messiah had not existed from all eternity but had a beginning by the creative act of the Father prior to time. He believed that the Son was of a different (heteros) essence or substance than the Father. Because of the virtue of His life and His obedience to His Father’s will, Messiah was to be considered divine. But Arius believed that Messiah was a being, created out of nothing, subordinate to the Father and of a different essence from the Father. He was not coequal, coeternal or consubstantial with the Father.

Before you click away, thinking that is heresy, consider that with the perspective of Arius in mind, the narrative of Scripture becomes congruent.

Then all of the Bible is monotheistic, as there is only one Most High Elohim, the Father; so the Old Testament and New Testament are congruent and blend together.

Elohim did not became a man who died, but rather His divine Son represented Him.

Verses that proclaim that Messiah is the Father’s only begotten Son make sense.

Messiah’s proclamation that His Father is greater than Him, makes sense.

They are One in mind and purpose, yet they are separate beings.

Messiah is the exact representation of His Father, so in effect if you’ve seen the Son, you’ve seen the Father.

Messiah being our Intercessor to the Father makes sense, as how could He intercede to Himself as a triune godhead?

Verses which say to pray to the Father in Messiah’s name, make sense.

The conversations between Messiah and His Father seem normal; that Messiah can do nothing without His Father; that His Father is greater than He; instead of appearing that Messiah is talking to Himself as a triune godhead.

The many verses from Paul, Peter, Titus and James, which address both Elohim the Father and Messiah the Son, make sense; as they are addressing them as separate beings.

People also cite 1 Peter 1:2 as it mentions the Father, Messiah and the Spirit.

“Elect according to the foreknowledge of Elohim the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Yeshua Messiah: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied..”

It’s saying that all three are active in our redemption, but it doesn’t declare that they are all equal in power. And the next verse declares that the Father is the Elohim of Messiah.

Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yeshua Messiah, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Yeshua Messiah from the dead.”

When one sees that the Father is Elohim, the Most High, who is eternal; who created Messiah His Son; and then they created this universe; then you see their order.  Then all of Scripture makes sense.

Then we see the organizational structure of the kingdom:

“And I wish you to know that the head of every man is the Messiah, and the head of woman is the man, and the head of Messiah is Elohim. 1 Corinthians 11:3

The Roman Deception

Tertullian, a Latin theologian is credited as being the first to use the Latin words ‘trinity’ (Latin: Trinitas), ‘person’ and ‘substance’ when he wrote in the early 3rd century, to explain that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as ‘one in essence, not one in Person‘.

The concept of the trinity, of three equal parts of the Godhead, is a creation of Rome; based on the trinity of pagan gods dating back to Babylon.

In 381 A.D., at the Council of Constantinople, the Trinity doctrine controversy was settled: “According to the discipline of the apostles, and the doctrine of the gospel, let us believe the sole deity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, under an equal majesty, and a pious Trinity…” Nicene Council

People proclaim that these are our early church fathers, but they are mistaken! They are a part of the enemy’s church, which seeks to destroy the true assembly of saints from within, by teaching false doctrine.

Emperor Constantine and the harlot Roman Catholic Church are behind the false trinity doctrine.

Here is the Athanasian Creed, which has been used by Christian churches since the sixth century. It is the first creed in which the equality of the three persons of the Trinity is explicitly stated.

“The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God. So there is One Father, not Three Fathers; one Son, not Three Sons; One Holy Ghost, not Three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is afore or after Other, None is greater or less than Another, but the whole Three Persons are Co-eternal together, and Co-equal. So that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity, is to be worshipped. He therefore that will be saved, must thus think of the Trinity.” Catholic Encyclopedia

The Holy Trinity image

This is what the Roman Catholic Church teaches, that the trinity is the very foundation of her whole dogmatic system. And that is because she is a harlot church, whose teachings are based on the Babylonian Mysteries; thus her title, Mystery, Babylon the Great.

Pagan Trinities

The Babylonian Trinity is Nimrod the Father, Semiramus the Mother, Tammuz the Son.

The Egyptian Trinity is Osiris the Father, Isis the Mother, Horus the son.

The Greek Trinity is Zeus, Athena and Apollo

The Roman Capitoline Triad is Jupiter, Juno and Minerva

The Pre-Islamic Arabian Trinity is Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat

The Hindu Trinity, Trimurti is Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva

The Buddhist Trinity is Amitabha Buddha, Mahasthamaprapta and Kwan Tin 600 B.C.

Some people deny the deity of Messiah and proclaim that He was just a man.

When people learn that the doctrine of the Holy Trinity is false, some then believe that Messiah was just a human. This hides that He is an Elohim, though separate from and subservient to His Father who is the Most High Elohim.

At the Council of Nicaea, the debate wasn’t about if Messiah was just a man. Rather it was between the Holy Trinity doctrine of the Roman bishops and the belief of Arius that Messiah is an Elohim, though separate from and subservient to His Father who is the Most High Elohim.

If Yeshua is just a man, then why did the Jewish leaders want to stone Him after He proclaimed “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am” in John 8:58?

If Yeshua is just a man, then why did the Jewish leaders want to stone Him after He proclaimed “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” in John 10:29-30?

If Yeshua is just a man, then why did he proclaim “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” in Revelation 1:8?

In Galatians 4:4, the Apostle Paul declares that Yeshua was made of a woman.

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.

This is a nonsensical statement if Yeshua is just a man, as all people are made of a woman. Paul is declaring that Messiah preexisted and came to be born in the flesh through Mary.

John’s definition of being antichrist is that one denies that Yeshua came in the flesh.

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Yeshua Messiah is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 1:7

Every man comes in the flesh, so if Yeshua is just a man, to deny that He came in the flesh makes no sense.

But because Yeshua existed before He came to dwell in a human body and is an Elohim, then it makes sense that to deny this truth in antichrist. Proclaiming the Yeshua was just a man means that one is antichrist.

These Scriptures clearly proclaim that Messiah did exist beforehand.

But you, Bĕyth Leḥem (Bethlehem) Ephrathah, you who are little among the clans of Yehuḏah (Judah, out of you shall come forth to Me the One to become Ruler in Yisra’ĕl (Israel). And HIS COMINGS FORTH ARE OF OLD, FROM EVERLASTING.” Micah 5:2

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. And the Word was made flesh (obviously pointing to Messiah, so He is the Word of John 1:1), and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:1-2, 10, 14

“John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: FOR HE WAS BEFORE ME.” John 1:15

No one has ever seen Elohim. The only brought-forth Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He did declare.” John 1:18

“This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: FOR HE WAS BEFORE ME.” John 1:30

And no one has gone up into the heaven except He who came down from the heaven – the Son of Adam.” John 3:13

For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life. For Elohim did not SEND HIS Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

“Because of this, then, the Yehuḏim (Jews) were seeking all the more to kill Him, ‘because not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He also called Elohim His own Father, making Himself equal with Elohim.’” John 5:18

And the Father who SENT Me, He bore witness of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.” John 5:37

For the bread of Elohim is He who comes down out of the heaven and gives life to the world.” John 6:33

Because I HAVE COME DOWN OUT OF THE HEAVEN, not to do My own desire, but the desire of Him who sent Me.” John 6:38

Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from Elohim – HE HAS SEEN THE Father” John 6:46

I am the living bread which CAME DOWN OUT OF HEAVEN. If anyone eats of this bread, he shall live forever. And indeed, the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” John 6:51

This is the bread which CAME DOWN OUT OF HEAVEN, not as your fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread shall live forever.” John 6:58

What if you see the Son of Aḏam going up where He was BEFORE?” John 6:62

But I know Him, because I AM FROM HIM, AND HE SENT ME.” John 7:29

And He said to them, “You are from below, I AM FROM ABOVE. You are of this world, I am not of this world.” John 8:23

“Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, BEFORE ABRAHAM CAME TO BE, I AM. Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him.” John 8:58-59

He is saying that He proceeded Abraham, not as a thought or future fulfillment, but that He existed.

‘I Am’ = ‘Yah’ the shortened name of YHUH, which is incorporated in the name of the Son. When you call upon the name of the Son, you invoke the shortened name of the Father, Yah.

I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. John 16:28

If you believe that Yeshua physically ascended to heaven, then you can’t dismiss that He came from heaven as figurative language.

And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and Yeshua Messiah whom YOU HAVE SENT.” John 17:3

“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory WHICH I HAD WITH THEE BEFORE THE WORLD WAS.” John 17:5

“For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I CAME OUT FROM THEE, and they have believed that thou didst send me.” John 17:8

Father, I desire that those whom You have given Me, might be with Me where I am, so that they see My esteem which You have given Me, because You loved Me BEFORE the foundation of the world.” John 17:24

“The first man is of the earth, earthy: THE SECOND MAN IS THE LORD FROM HEAVEN.” 1 Corinthians 15:47

For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah Yeshua, who, being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and CAME TO BE in the likeness of men.” Philippians 2:5-7  (If Messiah was just a human, this statement makes no sense.)

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life: And the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and announce to you that everlasting life which was with the Father and was manifested to us. We announce to you what we have seen and heard, so that you too might have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Yeshua Messiah.” 1 John 1:1-3 Once again, John says that Messiah is the Word, affirming His existence in the beginning in John 1:1.

And we have seen and bear witness that the Father has SENT the Son, Saviour of the world” 1 John 4:14

The Apostle John tells us that Yeshua is the Word of Elohim.

John’s epistle declares that Messiah was with Elohim in the beginning.

IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, and the Word was God. THE SAME WAS IN THE BEGINNING WITH GOD. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:2-4

AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

John validates this truth in Revelation 19:11-13.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and HIS NAME IS CALLED THE WORD OF GOD.

These verses point to Messiah being present and active in creation:

“and to make all see how this secret is administered, which for ages past has been hidden in ELOHIM WHO CREATED ALL THROUGH YESHUA MESSIAH” Ephesians 3:9 (Note: through ‘through YESHUA Messiah’ is missing is some manuscripts for this verse, it may have been added based on Colossians 1:16 and Hebrews 1:2)

who is the likeness of the invisible Elohim, THE FIRST-BORN OF ALL CREATION.

Elohim, having of old spoken in many portions and many ways to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all, THROUGH WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE AGES,” Hebrews 1:1-2

For to which of the messengers did He ever say, “You are My Son, today I have brought You forth”? And again, “I shall be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son”? And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, “Let all the messengers of Elohim do reverence to Him... And, “YOU, MASTER, DID FOUND THE EARTH IN THE BEGINNING, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.” Hebrews 1:5-6,9

And to the messenger of the assembly in Laodikeia write, ‘The Amĕn, the Trustworthy and True Witness, THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF ELOHOM, says this:” Revelation 3:14

It’s telling us that Messiah was the beginning of creation by Elohim. From Genesis to Revelation, the Scriptures proclaim that all was created through Messiah.

These verses prove that Messiah was born supernaturally.

Matthew 1:18 clearly says that Mary and Joseph have not come together in sexual union, yet she was pregnant.

“But the birth of Yeshua Messiah was as follows: After His mother Miryam was engaged to Yosěph, before they came together, she was found to be pregnant from the Set-apart Spirit.”

Matthew 1:23 says that Mary was a virgin, and then verse 25 says that Joseph was not intimate with your until she birthed Messiah.

“See, a virgin shall conceive, and she shall give birth to a Son, and they shall call His Name Immanu’ěl,” which translated, means, “Ěl with us.”  And Joseph, awaking from his sleep, did as the messenger of Yeshua commanded him and took his wife, but knew her not until she gave birth to her Son, the first-born. And he called His Name Yeshua.”

Luke 1:27-30 show that Mary was highly favored by Elohim. Do we really believe that Elohim would say that about someone who was not a virgin, who was a fornicator?

“to a maiden engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the maiden’s name was Miryam.  And the messenger, coming to her, said, “Greetings, favoured one, the Master is with you. Blessed are you among women!”  But she was greatly disturbed at his word, and wondered what kind of greeting this was.   And the messenger said to her, “Do not be afraid, Miryam, for you have found favour with Elohim.”

Then in Luke 1:34. Mary clearly says that she has not been with a man.

“And Miryam said to the messenger, “How shall this be, since I do not know a man?

Luke 1:35 proclaims how she became pregnant:

And the messenger answering, said to her, “The Set-apart Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you. And for that reason the Set-apart One born of you shall be called: Son of Elohim.”

The Scriptures says that Joseph and Mary were engaged, not married.  A highly-favored woman doesn’t have sexual union until she is married.

These verses clearly declare that Messiah was without sin, thus He is deity.

And He was appointed a grave with the wrong, and with the rich at His death, because He had DONE NO VIOLENCE (wrong), nor was deceit in His mouth.” Isaiah 53:9

For He made Him WHO KNEW NO SIN to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim” 2 Corinthians 5:21

For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, APART FROM SIN” Hebrews 4:15

knowing that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, not with what is corruptible, silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb UNBLEMISHED AND SPOTLESS, foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but manifested in these last times for your sakes.” 1 Peter 1:18-19

who COMMITTED NO SIN, nor was deceit found in His mouth,” 1 Peter 2:22

For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the defiled, sets apart for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of the Messiah, who through the everlasting Spirit offered Himself UNBLEMISHED to Elohim, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim?” Hebrews 9:14

After reading those verses, please share what you think that Scripture is declaring about the trinity.

    • Chris, I haven’t studied Oneness or Modalism, so I can’t say. It is interesting that Jehovah’s Witnesses seem to align with Arius.

    • Thomas referred to Messiah as his God because Messiah is deity. When you read all of the verses in this Bible study, you see that the Heavenly Father is Messiah’s God, meaning that He is superior to Messiah. By that we see the natural order, that the Heavenly Father is the Most High God, His Son is subservient to His Father, and were are subservient to Messiah.

  2. David,
Once again, I am wowed! I have spent nearly 50 years trying to reconcile the problems around the doctrine of the trinity! When it was first presented to me my instant reaction was, “Look, either God is three or God is one, you cannot have it both ways.” Again, if you preach a lie often enough and loud enough, people will believe it.

    Things I have struggled with:

Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, as soon as he was baptized, came straight out of the water. And lo, heaven was open over him, and John saw the Spirit of God descend like a dove and light upon him.

If Jesus was/is God, why would he need the Holy Spirit?

That said: If Jesus did not have the Holy Spirit before this, how was he able to avoid sinning?

Also the relationship of Jesus to Adam:

1 Corinthians 15:20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who sleep. 21 For by a man came death, and by a man came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as through Adam all die, even so through Christ shall all be made alive, 23 and each one in his own order. The first is Christ, then those who are Christ’s at his coming.

….And all the way through the end of that chapter.
Also Jesus’ so called “high priestly prayer.” I could not see how it was possible for me to be one with God the Father the same way Jesus was if Jesus was/is God.

John 17;11b Holy Father, keep in your own name those whom you have given me so that they may be one, as we are.

This also makes our “adoption” much clearer: Rom. 8:15; 23; 9:4; Gal. 4:5; Eph. 1:5.

There are many other passages, most of which your article cover.

    WHAT ABOUT:

GEN. 1:26 And God said: let us make man in our similitude and after our likeness:
My guess: it was after God created the Light (which was Jesus).

    WHAT ABOUT:

John 1:1 In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

    • Yeah Leslie, learning this truth was a wow moment for me.

Once I collected all of the verses together, the relationship of the Father and the Son became clear.

Now when I read Scripture, such as the verses that you listed, the narrative makes sense. The narrative of the Old Testament and New Testament becomes congruent.

When you read Genesis 1:1-5, you see the similarity of the language to John 1:1-5. Messiah is the light of the world. He’s the light of the first day of creation, as the sun wasn’t created until the fourth day.

Genesis 1:26 points to plural beings, the Father and the Son, creating man in their image.

We see the relationship of the Father and His only-begotten Son; but the enemy has twisted the narrative.

  3. Not sure what to write. I agree with all the verses you sited, after all they are the word of God.. Personally i agree as to the lack of trinity in the bible, as for many things, we put things in terms, we as men, can understand. Ive often said in lessons that i dont fully understand, and will not until we see Jesus face to face. but my two cents is this. there is one God yes amen. Jesus was God in the flesh, and we as people can never forget Jesus, the man , that came here to save us. we must keep him for what he came to do. Jesus is now with the Father in heaven waiting for that judgement day. after that could they return as one in being? not sure, we are not told that. Worship God through Jesus our saviour in the Spirit.

  4. Hello David. Thank you for such devotion to seeking the truth of God and for the time spent in organizing the information in a easy to digest manner. All information flows together very nicely and the groupings of scripture to back up certain points is so very helpful. I am speaking with someone about the validity of their belief in the Trinity doctrine. One of the things they stated to me as “proof” is that “Elohim” is plural of “El” which indicates that “Elohim” is including God the Father, Messiah the Son and the Father’s Spirit are all ONE and thus the Trinity. What are your thoughts on that?

    Reply
    • Hello Shelly. Thank you for your comment. I believe that the Heavenly Father, His beloved Son and the Spirit all play a role in our redemption. But that doesn’t mean that they’re all the same entity and that they’re equal in power.

Genesis 1 says that humans are created in ‘our’ image, meaning that they were created by the Father and Son. So Elohim is plural and it points to the Father and the Son. But that doesn’t mean that they’re the same entity and that they’re equal in power.

Messiah is deity, but Scripture declares that He is separate from His Father and subservient to Him.

      I hope that helps,
      David

      Reply
      • That indeed does help, thank you!

I had the thought reading your response that “parents” is the plural for “parent” – Mom and Dad are equally important but not the same being.

I am also looking deeper into Isaiah 9:6 KJV as that is another example of “proof” the individual provided for their belief in the Trinity. I should have mentioned this as well in my first post for I could use some insight about the part in the verse that states “…The everlasting Father,…”

Now that you have educated me on the Comma Johanneum (!!!), of course my curious mind wonders if the Isaiah verse was also conveniently edited…do you have evidence of other scripture not found in the “oldest Greek manuscripts of Aleph, A, B, and the Vulgate” that was allowed to be included in Bibles of all sorts?

So, to clarify – do you have insight into Isaiah 9:6 that you don’t mind sharing and can you confirm if any other scripture has been found to not have originated from the ancient manuscripts?

Thank you David and much encouragement to you and all believers to stay faithful and in continuous prayer while seeking guidance and truth in God’s Holy Word.

        As Paul stated,

“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ha, there’s another verses indicating the separateness)

        Shelly

        Reply
        • Shelly, yeah, there are many verses that proclaim ‘God our Father’ showing who is supreme, and then adding the Lord Jesus Christ, which shows that they are separate.

I’ve not done a lot of research about Scriptures which aren’t in the ancient manuscripts.

Isaiah 9:6 is an interesting verse that trinitarians cite. But one verse doesn’t invalidate all of the other verses which show that Messiah is separate and subservient to the Father.

Young’s Literal Translation renders it as “For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.”

Messiah is our wonderful counselor. Messiah is deity, so he is a mighty El, a mighty God who conquered Satan the god of this world with His atoning work on the cross. Messiah is the cause of eternal life to all the faithful, as He confirmed the everlasting covenant with His blood to pay for our sins, so He is an everlasting Father. Messiah is the prince of peace.

Messiah is all of those things, but that doesn’t prove that He’s equal in power to His Father, and 1/3rd of the godhead.

Keep pressing on for the glory of our King!

          • Thank you David. I agree with your explanation of the Young’s Literal Translation. I did do a little digging on the definition of father which led me to sire which led me to lord…of course more details (language origin etc.) are involved but I’m a bit tired at the moment and I think you know what I mean.

            Father of Eternity…makes perfect sense.
