This Revelation 18:4 – Come Out Of Her post will focus what Dr. Michael Heiser teaches in this video: When Was Jesus Really Born? (CHRISTMAS EPISODE!)
Video description:
What is the exact date Jesus Christ was born? Also, should Christians be celebrating Christmas, should we abandon it, and should we be dividing with one another over this decision in our personal lives? Are the Christmas tree and the other trappings of the holiday all idols? All this and more is discussed with our special guest, Dr. Michael Heiser!
Dr. Michael Heiser says that the Romans had different calendar systems, so though some point to Herod dying in 4 BC, making a 09-11-3 BC birth of Messiah impossible; other calendar systems pointed to Herod dying in 2-1 BC.
He says that Revelation 12 points to Messiah’s birth, and that the woman is Israel, who produces the Messiah, and the Jews who were persecuted.
Though it may symbolize Messiah’s birth with the imagery, the passage is not about Messiah’s birth; as Revelation was written in 95 AD, well past His birth, and it is forward-looking.
Revelation 12 describes the iron legs of the statue in Daniel 2, the dreadful beast of Daniel 7, the Roman Empire, which was terrible and exceedingly strong.
Satan was exalted in this Empire, as they worship his false gods. When Messiah caused the Empire to fall, Satan was cast down from his place of power. The last Roman Emperor was removed in 476 A.D.
Revelation 12 is not about Israel. It is about the birth of Messiah’s Church (the woman) and the New Testament (the son), the two-fold witness that Messiah is the Son of Elohim, the Passover Lamb, who atoned for our sins by His sacrifice, and who rose again. Satan used the Roman Empire to try to kill Messiah as a baby, to crucify Messiah, and to try to wipe out the Early Church. Read Revelation 12 – Roman Empire Beast
Dr. Michael Heiser points to the 70th week of Daniel as starting between 10 BC to 2 AD, depending on the calendar being used; pointing to Messiah’s birth.
But the 70th week of Daniel is not about when Messiah would be born, but about when He would appear in His ministry, at age 30. This started when He was baptized by John the Baptist, and then He read the passage from Isaiah in the temple, proclaiming that it was being fulfilled in Him.
It’s about Messiah and His disciples confirming with the Jews for seven years that He’s the promised Messiah, who came to ratify the everlasting covenant with His blood as the Passover Lamb. Read The 70th Week Of Daniel Deception
He says that Wormwood may be a trigger event for all hell breaking loose in the future.
Wordwood is part of the 3rd Trumpet of Revelation, which was fulfilled already. A star in prophecy symbolizes a leader. Elohim sent this great burning star, Attila the king of the Huns, who was called “the scourge of God.”
He came from the area around a river in Illyricum which in Greek is called “Apsynthos” (Wormwood). Attila and his 800,000 man army rose quickly and flashed across the land in 451 A.D., and desolated the Italian Alps, which is the source of the Danube, Rhine and Po rivers. Dr. Michael Heiser says that the return of the Lord is linked to the ‘fullness of the gentiles‘; that Israel will have an awakening; and that ‘all Israel will be saved.‘
This is a form of dispensationalism. In Romans, Paul is not pointing to an end-times state of Israel. He’s pointing to the people who have a covenant relationship with the Father through the Son. He clearly said “For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel.”
Paul was pointing to the desolation of the temple, Jerusalem and the Jews; which occurred in 70 A.D. The saints heeded Messiah’s Olivet Discourse, and when they saw the sign of the Abomination of Desolation, they fled Judea and went to the mountains for protection.
During a time of great tribulation, 1.1 million Jews died from famine, pestilence, infighting, suicide, crucifixion and by the Roman sword; but Jewish historian Josephus records that not on saint was killed. And so, the physical Israelties/Jews who didn’t believe in their promised Messiah were killed; and all Israel, those who did believe in Messiah, were saved.
Daniel 12:1 points to the same thing, saying those who are saved would be delivered from the coming judgment, “and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”
So though Dr. Michael Heiser offers some good information, ultimately he is misleading people about many things.
