Names In Scripture Have Meaning

This Revelation 18:4 – Come Out Of Her study shows how names in Scripture have meaning, and why Messiah’s Hebrew name is so important.

Names in Scripture have meaning. They describe the character and mission of a person.

Our Messiah’s Hebrew name is Yahusha, which means ‘Yahuah (the Father) is our Deliverer’, ‘Yahuah is our Salvation’.

We see this defined in Matthew 1:21 “And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע (Yahusha) for He shall save His people from their sins.”

The name Yahusha means that He shall save His people from their sins. The Greek name Jesus does not mean that, which is why I prefer to use Messiah’s Hebrew name.”

sha is Hebrew for Salvation. Messiah's name is Yahusha.

Exodus 15:2 Yah is my strength and song, and He has become my deliverance. He is my Ěl, and I praise Him – Elohim of my father, and I exalt Him.

2 Samuel 22:3 My Elohim is my rock, I take refuge in Him, My shield and the horn of my deliverance, My high tower and my refuge. My Saviour, You save me from violence.

2 Samuel 22:47 Yahuah “יהוה lives! And blessed is my Rock! And exalted is my Elohim, The Rock of my deliverance,

1 Chronicles 16:35 And say, “Save us, O Elohim of our deliverance; And gather us together, And deliver us from the gentiles, To give thanks to Your set-apart Name, And boast in Your praise.”

Psalm 18:2 Yahuah יהוה is my rock and my stronghold and my deliverer; My Ěl is my rock, I take refuge in Him; My shield and the horn of my deliverance, my high tower.

Psalm 20:5 We sing of Your deliverance, And in the Name of our Elohim we set up a banner! Yahuah יהוה does fill all your requests!

Psalms 27:1 Yahuah יהוה is my light and my deliverance; Whom should I fear? Yahuah יהוה is the refuge of my life; Whom should I dread?

Isaiah 12:2 “See, Ěl is my deliverance, I trust and am not afraid. For Yah, יהוה, is my strength and my song; and He has become my deliverance.”

Micah 7:7 As for me, I look to Yahuah יהוה, I wait for the Elohim of my deliverance, my Elohim does hear me.

Habakkuk 3:18 Yet I exult in Yahuah יהוה, I rejoice in the Elohim of my deliverance.

Luke 19:9 And Yahusha יהושע said to him, “Today deliverance has come to this house – since he also is a son of Aḇraham.

Acts 28:28 Therefore let it be known to you that the deliverance of Elohim has been sent to the gentiles, and they shall hear!

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Messiah, for it is the power of Elohim for deliverance to everyone who believes, to the Yehuḏite (Jew) first and also to the Greek.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 Because Elohim did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain deliverance through our Master Yahusha יהושע Messiah,

Revelation 19:1 And after this I heard a loud voice of a great crowd in the heaven, saying, “Halleluyah! Deliverance and esteem and respect and power to Yahuah יהוה our Elohim!

“Do you see it?

The prophets proclaimed that Yahuah, the Father, is salvation, that He is our Deliverer. The Father sent His Son to carry out that work.

Messiah said “I have come in My Father’s Name.” John 5:43

Yahusha means ‘Yahuah, the Father, saves’.

Yahusha, died as the Passover Lamb, to ratify the everlasting covenant with His blood, so that we can have salvation and deliverance; so that we can have a covenant relationship with the Father.

Messiah’s name represents our salvation, our deliverance. That is why His Hebrew name is so important!

Lest you think that I am proclaiming that people who use the name Jesus are not saved, I am not, for the Father judges the intention of our heart.

What I am proclaiming is that the true followers of Messiah should desire to know His Hebrew name, as it represents their salvation. What is the intention of your heart?
